Head of Government of Mexico City, Clara Brugada, confirmed this Wednesday that the Secretary of Well-being and Social Equality, Araceli Damián, will leave her post on April 15th to return to her work as a researcher. Damián stated: 'Returning to my job as a researcher or losing all my rights in academia.' She will be replaced by Pablo Yanes, who will rotate from the Secretariat of Metropolis to this new role. In turn, Enrique Irazoque, the current Undersecretary of Metropolis, will take over Yanes's position. This marks the third change in Clara Brugada's cabinet since she took office in October 2024. Brugada also announced 4,500 homes in the Historic Center and a new rent law. She declared: 'We will continue to promote planning, land use, and metropolitan coordination as factors of change and transformation in people's lives.'
